Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT is a meridian based therapy.

That is to say, it is a therapy that is applied to  meridian points along the meridian lines that flow through your body; in much the same way that Acupuncture or Acupressure uses meridian points.

The basic principles of this type of therapy were brought about by Dr. Richard Callahan, an experienced clinical psychologist, who theorised that there is a stage in between  a memory causing a negative emotion and that this stage was a disruption in the body’s energy system, which then in turn causes pain which can be either physical or psychological.

He discovered that by tapping with your fingers on certain points of the body reinstated the body’s energy system and this resulted in obtaining cures to long term sufferers of anxieties phobias, etc ...

This process was refined by one of his students into a system whereby all the relevant tapping points are used for any problem and therefore all problems are covered by default.

When this is first explained to a client that they have to tap certain points on their body whilst saying relevant words, they seem surprised because it does seem rather bizarre. 

However, in my experience, EFT has an enormous success rate, especially when used after hypnotherapy if any minor issues still remain.
